In another story with a happy ending involving AirTagstoday we will talk regarding how a plant pot thief was caught following stealing a real fortune from a nursery/garden located in California (United States).
According to ABC7security cameras spread throughout a parking lot caught several times a guy filling a shopping cart with potted plants and trees and loading them into a truck.
He carried very valuable vases, some of them worth around US$300 each — a situation that was not resolved even with an increase in patrols carried out by the police in the region, with the aim of capturing the suspect.
That’s when the establishment’s operations manager, Michael Sullivan, decided to take action on his own. He installed some AirTags in certain pots, believing that the thief would return to the place to get more plants.
No sooner said than done! After observing the movement of one of the AirTags, he took a screenshot and sent the location to investigators in the middle of the night — which resulted in the discovery of the hiding place of the stolen goods.
The place, which ended up being named “sanctuary of stolen vegetation”, was full of goods taken from the garden. The police even recovered no less than US$8 mil in usurped items.
Arrested, the suspect now faces four felony counts of robbery. Sullivan hopes this outcome sends a clear message that any type of theft will not be tolerated.
