It’s been a while since we talked regarding the AirScrobblean application whose purpose is to allow users to do scrobble of songs listened to offline on Last.fm. Now, with the launch of iOS 17the software received a major update with features that take advantage of the full potential of the latest version of Apple’s system.
Starting with the main new feature, AirScrobble now allows users to identify songs that are being played on the device itselfsuch as in music streaming apps (Apple Music, Spotify, etc.) or in the soundtrack of a film or Netflix series, for example.
Other usage scenarios for the new functionality, which is available for iPhones running iOS 17, include compilations and unofficial music on YouTube, personal recordings in the Photos app and even music that is running on social media apps, such as Reels on Instagram.
With the new system, AirScrobble is also gaining support for Live Activities (Live Activities) interactive. This way, we can simply tap a button (on the Dynamic Island or on the locked screen) to do the scrobble instantly click on an identified song — without leaving the app you’re currently using.
Finally, the app is also adding a new shortcut to allow you to quickly identify a song — it can be playing both in the surroundings and on the device itself. Just search for “Match” in Spotlight or the Shortcuts app so that the app triggers recognition in the background.
AirScrobble is available for free download on the App Store, but you need to subscribe to unlock all the app’s features; the values are R$2/month or R$15/something. For those who prefer to pay once, the app costs R$100.
