President Joko Widodo admitted that he has not been able to decide when he will start working in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN). His intention to have an office in IKN as of September 2024 seems to be postponed. This time, the reason is that the IKN Airport is still not finished.

“Look at the field conditions, because there are indeed many things that have not been completed. For example, the airport has not been completed,” said Jokowi, after inaugurating the Godean Market, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Wednesday (28/8).

He said, if it has moved to IKN, important infrastructures such as airports must be ready first. Because, it is a facility that is able to connect flights from and to all regions of Indonesia.

“So if we have moved there, it should be possible if we want to go to Papua from the IKN, if we want to go to NTT from the IKN, to Aceh also from the IKN,” said Jokowi.

Previously, Jokowi had an office in the IKN for several days at the beginning of this month. He also held a Plenary Cabinet Session at the Garuda Palace. (Z-11)
