Airlangga’s Resignation Allegedly Related to Power Agenda

A POLITICAL observer from Voxpol Center Research & Consulting, Pangi Syarwi Chaniago, said that Airlangga’s possible resignation as General Chairman (Ketum) of the Golkar Party was due to a power agenda. This is because there are differences in interests from external parties.

“There are also those who say that this cannot be separated from the invisible hand or the cold hands of those in power who feel that it is not in line with the interests of the agenda of those in power,” said Pangi to Medcom.idMonday (12/8).

He said, news of Airlangga’s decline had been heard since last year. One of them was an attempt to oust Airlangga through the Golkar Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub).

“Many have said that this has actually been going on for a year now, the unrest for the removal or extra-ordinary movement of Airlangga,” said Pangi.

According to Pangi, Airlangga’s resignation as Golkar’s General Chairperson is related to the politicization of the law. Airlangga stepped down to avoid a legal case that dragged him.

“So indeed Airlangga must step down or will be faced with legal cases that have hit him that have been accused of which can be yes, can be no, but often the politicization of law, the law is used as a tool to hold hostages to conquer opponents,” he said. (J-2.
