Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto encouraged priority programs to be completed immediately before the term of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin ends. Programs that are considered important are also expected to be sharpened to have a significant impact.
He conveyed this in the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs’ Leader’s Offsite Meeting (LOM) in Palembang, South Sumatra. “Of course, for our superior programs, we need to continue to push for their achievements, one of which is for digital, related to infrastructure development, it also needs to continue to be pushed forward,” he said as quoted from a press release, Sunday (21/7).
Some of the priority and leading programs that are requested to continue to be strengthened are efforts to maintain price stability and food stocks, the sustainability of the Pre-Employment Card Program with a job availability & demand pipeline integrated with the system, the development of the semiconductor industry, and the completion of the National Strategic Project (PSN).
In addition, Airlangga asked for strengthening related to international trade cooperation such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to increase export contributions, to the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund for international trade infrastructure and security.
With various programs and strategies that have been implemented, Airlangga expressed optimism about the current economic targets. This is also considered capable of forming a strong economic foundation for the sustainability of development in the future.
Until the first quarter of 2024, economic growth was recorded at 5.11% (year on year/yoy) and is predicted to grow above 5% (yoy) until the end of 2024. Meanwhile, the inflation rate is still within the target of 2.51% (yoy) as of June 2024. (Z-2)
