Aircalin: a “code sharing” agreement signed with Air France

The two companies agreed on Friday March 31 to share their codes for the Nouméa – Paris line via Singapore. This collaboration should in particular make it possible to simplify the procedure for passengers.



It had been in the works for quite some time. Aircalin and Air France signed an agreement on Friday to share their codes on the Nouméa – Paris line via Singapore. Aircalin customers will be able to “travel under the company’s contract of carriage and flight number for their entire trip“, indicates the carrier in a press release.

More concretely, the agreement will allow, for example, to accumulate Flying-blue miles. Travelers will also only have to contact the company with which the reservation was made, if they have a problem at any time during the flight.

Aircalin staff will be able to follow the traveler throughout this line and will be able to assist him with any incidents that may happen to him during this entire journey.“, affirms Marcel Unë, president of the board of directors of the company according to which “this is an important day for Aircalin“.

The contract currently concerns three rotations per week. Flights will depart from Nouméa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. They will depart from Paris on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. In its press release, Aircalin welcomes a “increased visibility on the France and Europe markets through reservation systems, with the ambition of growth prospects in a major region in terms of traffic“.

This new display will also allow Aircalin to play moreits role as ambassador of New Caledonia by ensuring the promotion of the destination in a more direct way on theentire European continent“, concludes the press release.
