Airbus A330P2F: cargo conversion certified in China

The Chinese regulator CAAC certified the conversions of passenger aircraft into freighters of Airbus A330-200 et A330-300 made by EFWpaving the way for a second life for European widebody aircraft in China.

Elbe aircraft works (EFW), the joint venture between Airbus and ST Engineering, has obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) according to the Journal of Aviation the additional type certificates (STC) for its program of conversion A330P2F (passenger to freighter), concerning the two types of the A330 family – A330-200 and A330-300. The first aircraft to benefit from it is a A330-300P2F belonging to CDB Aviationand leased with another copy to the airline Sichuan Airlines ; the MSN937 manufactured in 2008 completed its conversion last month at STARCO (EFW’s local partner) in Shanghai-Hongqiao.
