Miles of queues of cars on Wednesday
The journey to Airbeat One started on Wednesday morning. According to the police, there were kilometers of traffic jams the day before the official opening – for example on the country road between Ludwigslust and Neustadt-Glewe up to ten kilometers and on the A24 at the Neustadt-Glewe junction from Berlin up to five kilometers in length. A police spokesman explained that arrival traffic started later this year than in previous years and that is why a large number of visitors came at once. The police tried to steer the masses of cars and appealed to those arriving in traffic jams on the motorway not to leave their vehicles.

Drug controls: Ecstasy pill “Blue Punisher” in focus
The police have also announced random drug checks. A police spokeswoman said in the followingnoon that the controls had already identified individual cases of driving under the influence of drugs. According to the police, 150 to 200 officers will be working around the clock at Airbeat One every day until Sunday.
Internationales Line-up
Paul van Dyk, Paul Kalkbrenner, Scooter, Steve Aoki, Neelix and KSHMR are just a few of the names festival visitors can look forward to. Their music is supposed to blaze across the site from five stages, some of which are huge. The design of the main stage will remain secret until the opening. The motto of this year’s 20th edition of Airbeat One is: “Edition Home Germany” – presented from afar by the long row of German flags above the entrance area.
