ININ Games obliges, it is a question of capitalizing on the notoriety of Yû Suzuki (Space Harrier, Out Run, After Burner, Virtua Fighter, Shenmue) to sell a few physical versions in addition to the obligatory dematerialized channels. Pre-orders will also open on July 18 on PS5, PS4 and Switch, without it being known whether ININ Games has prepared collector’s editions.
Necessarily seen as a reminiscence of Space Harrieran arcade shooter released in 1985, although it can also be compared to a Panzer Dragoon or a Star Fox, Air Twister features Princess Arch in her fight to save her planet from impending destruction, facing off against twenty categories of monsters and ten bosses by flying across the screen and shooting anything that moves throughout the game’s 12 levels.
Easy to handle, especially since it was first designed for touch controls, Air Twister is supposed to recall the arcade feeling of yesteryear while constituting a little personal pleasure for Yû Suzuki. The latter, as a good fan of Valensia, called on this Dutch artist who is a little better known in Japan than here (imagine a copy of Queen with a touch of Kate Bush and a zest of Michael Jackson) to include 21 of his songs, including some unpublished compositions, as a soundtrack. Finally, various unlockables, game modes and mini-games enhance the experience.
