Pauline Sarr, an expatriate who took the Bordeaux-Dakar flight very recently, claims to have spent nearly 750 euros or 500,000 F on a plane ticket.

All these travelers who shuttle between these two regions want there to be at least measures to reduce the plane tickets of foreign companies serving Senegal from France.

The reasons for the increase

Many professionals in the air sector speak of “a generalized phenomenon” adding that the rise in the cost of air tickets is mainly linked to taxes, fees and charges imposed by States that passengers pay through the cost of tickets. aircraft collected by airlines.

According to the chairman of the aero-political committee AFRAA (African Airlines Association), the West African region comes first with the highest number of taxes and fees followed by the Central African region. With such high fares, some will no longer be able to afford to board a plane. This increase only discourages tourist traffic and inhibits the tourism sector’s ability to recover from the devastating impact of COVID.
