Studies show that air pollution affects the ability of sperm to move in the right direction. Environmental problems are also known to cause infertility
According to a study conducted by Shanghai Tongji University.

The study included 34,000 34-year-old men from 340 cities in China. The study says their wives became pregnant through artificial insemination between January 2013 and December 2019.

The study categorized those who breathed dust particles below 2.5 micrometers, between 2.5 micrometers and 10 micrometers, and more than 10 micrometers. The study says that the rate of pollution decreases with age.

The study found that those who inhaled dust particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter had a 3.6 percent decrease in sperm motility and those who inhaled dust particles with a diameter of 10 micrometers had a 2.4 percent decrease. The study also found that those who experienced air pollution during the first 90 days of sperm production were more likely to be affected.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 50% of infertility is caused by male problems. Infertility is a health problem that affects 10% of couples worldwide.
