The airline company Air France intends to strengthen its offer between Paris et Newark next winter, sending a Airbus A350-900 equipped with new cabins.

After a dozen destinations which should welcome the “new” A350s of the French national company this summer, the GDS consulted by Aeroroutes discuss their deployment from October 29, 2023 at the airport of Newark-Liberty. The daily flight will then be operated from Paris-CDG at 12:30 p.m. for arrival at 3:00 p.m., with return from the United States. They will replace the 278-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners used this summer.

This Monday morning, the Air France booking site displayed for the same day at the start of the winter season eight other rotations to New York, at the airport JFK this time, operated by itself or by Delta Air Lines, its transatlantic joint venture partner. Between the two cities, they face competition from American Airlines and now JetBlue Airways (CDG-JFK), more to and from Newark than United Airlines, French bee and La Compagnie (departing from Orly).

Unveiled in November 2022 for Air France’s Boeing 777-300ERs, the new A350 cabins will be able to accommodate 48 passengers in Business class, 32 in Premium and 212 in Economy (292 seats once morest 324 currently). In total, Air France has ordered 41 A350-900s “the delivery of which continues at a steady pace”. After the first 20 aircraft, the 21st A350 will inaugurate this new cabin configuration. The MSN603 soon to be registered F-HUVA will be baptized “Aix-en-Provence”, and will make its first commercial flight “in July 2023”, the alliance company explained at the beginning of the month.
