Moscow. November 19. INTERFAX.RU – A drone flying in the direction of Moscow was shot down by air defense forces in the urban district of Elektrostal, preliminary, there were no casualties or damage, said the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin.
“Air defense forces in the city district of Elektrostal repelled an attack by a drone flying towards Moscow. At the site where the debris fell, according to preliminary data, there was no damage or casualties,” Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel.
He added that emergency services are working at the scene.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also stated that a Ukrainian drone was intercepted in the Moscow region.
“Duty air defense systems intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over the territory of the Moscow region,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the military, the attack attempt was stopped on Sunday at 23:20 Moscow time.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine tried to “carry out a terrorist attack using an aircraft-type UAV once morest targets in Moscow and the Moscow region.”
