Air Antilles Pilots’ Union Conflict: Urgent Call for Resolution by Entreprises du Voyages Antilles-Guyane

In a press release published on July 20, the “Entreprises du Voyages Antilles-Guyane” called for a rapid resolution to the conflict between the management of Air Antilles and the airline’s pilots’ union.

Following the two successive strike notices filed by the Cairo section of the Airline Pilots’ Union for an indefinite strike during the summer holidays, the Companies of Voyages Antilles Guyane call for the need for a fruitful dialogue between the managers and employees of the Air Antilles company, so that “the hostage-taking” of passengers stops.

Between canceled or postponed trips, customers worried about not being able to leave and the costs incurred to transport travelers, travel agencies are bearing the full brunt of the conflict at Air Antilles, and call on the common sense of the actors so that a quick solution is found.

To satisfy their customers’ vacation needs, travel operators must offer alternatives that are not always easy to find.

The total cost of this strike for travel agencies is not yet quantified, but the first estimates raise fears of a significant loss.
