Air Antilles company: Passengers stranded for a whole day…

On Saturday August 20, 2022, passengers bound for Saint-Martin and Guadeloupe were stranded at Aimé Césaire airport in Martinique for a good part of the day. A delay due to “operational constraints”, according to the management of the Air Antilles company.

According to Martinique la 1ère, around sixty passengers were stranded at the Martinique airport when their plane was due to take off at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday August 20, 2022. A first delay was announced, which was due to technical problems, assures the company air, which postponed the boarding of passengers by 2h30.
The second takeoff scheduled for 9:00 a.m. is also delayed for “a technical breakdown and lack of flight personnel”, said Air Antilles.
It was not until shortly following 6:00 p.m. that the passengers, who had been waiting since the morning, were able to fly to Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin…
In a press release, the management of the airline “regrets the situation of passengers stranded at Aimé Césaire airport in Martinique this Saturday August 20, 2022, following operational constraints (…) For the time being, 47 passengers have been transported to Grand-Case and 48 are at the start, towards Pointe-à-Pitre. The company would like to once once more apologize to the passengers concerned for the inconvenience encountered. They will of course be compensated.
