President Yoon said, “The state cannot prevent individuals from exercising their property rights,” and added, “The state must think regarding how to provide support, not regulation, when exercising collective property rights.”
He continued, “The government should be doing things like immigration measures, financial support, and reducing the tax burden. What authority does the government have to block this (exercise of property rights)?”
Also, “Restricting individual freedom and rights is possible only from the perspective of national security and public welfare. Public welfare should only be restricted when it has a high degree of public nature. Just because it is labeled as public welfare does not mean that it can be regulated at will by making any law. “No,” he said.
In particular, he indirectly criticized the Moon Jae-in administration’s regulation-oriented real estate policy, saying, “On what basis does a government that was created to guarantee the freedom and rights of the people block this?”
At the same time, he emphasized, “Our government has completely changed its perspective on what kind of support the government should provide to ensure that real estate policies operate according to market principles and to avoid inconvenience to the people.”
