Mikkkjal Thomassen, 48, is current for AIK. The Faroese coach, who was last in Fredrikstad, has resigned from Fredrikstad FK and is now in talks with AIK. Norwegian The online newspaper was first with the news, but both The Express and Sportbladet has information that the coach is current.
Thomassen began his coaching career in the Faroe Islands. He won the Faroese league with B36 Torshavn in 2013 and with KI Klaksvik in 2019. The following year he took Klaksvik to the playoffs in the Europa League and since 2022 he has coached Fredrikstad. The result in Norway is promotion from the second league in 2023. After 14 rounds played, the newcomer is fifth in this year’s Eliteserien, but he has resigned from there.
