The other occurred on November 21, with a plane from Aeromexico.

There have been 10 serious incidents at the AICM since December

Sinacta described as serious the 10 incidents that occurred in the AICMsince the pilots had to make a maneuver responding to the information from the TCAS.

The TCAS (Collision or Traffic Alert System) is a series of devices installed in aircraft that work independently of ground stations and provide alerts in the event of a threat of mid-air collision between aircraft.

“We have the list of several incidents that we have delivered to the authority so that they, within the scope of their competence, request the information from Seneam,” said Covarrubias.

Sinacta delivers the information of the flight data and the video, with a previous analysis.

Problems derived from the redesign of the airspace in the ZMVM

In a subsequent interview, the secretary general of the Sinacta commented that all these problems are derived from the redesign of the airspace in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico for it to come into operation Felipe Angeles International Airport and the bad work environment generated by the former general director of Seneam, Víctor Manuel Hernández Sandoval.

The redesign of air space It started operating in March 2021.

Covarrubias explained that the redesign of the airspace was done in a simulator similar to “a video game” in which the real operating conditions were not taken into account.

And one of the most serious problems of the redesign is the “reduction of separation between aircraft”, like the one that occurred on Saturday May 7 between two Volaris planes.

“It is not a factor that the two airports cannot operate, we just have to correct the procedures. You have to call in the experts, people with knowledge,” said Covarrubias.

Sinacta charged that the consultant hired by the federal government to redesign the airspace: NavBlue, only charged, but has not manifested itself.

They point out unjustified dismissals among air traffic controllers

At the same time, the former director of Seneam, made unjustified dismissals among air traffic controllersthreatened them, asked them to sign letters where they did not know the union leader, changed their schedules and hired friends and acquaintances in “air traffic controller supervisor” positions without sufficient training.

In addition, it eliminated the position of Flow Controller in the Mexico Control Center, who is the one who makes the blocks so that the planes can enter the AICM during peak hours and avoid congestion.
