The International Festival of Patras will be at 9.30 on Thursday 18 July one of the most important stops in this year’s tour of the show “Aias” by Sophocles, which is staged at the Municipal Summer Theater directed by Giorgos Nanouris, with Michalis Sarantis and Apostolos Handzaras.
Michalis Sarantis shockingly interprets all nine roles of the tragedy, while Apostolos Handzaras converses with him while drawing, in front of the spectators’ eyes.
Aeandas, the greatest warrior in the Greek camp, is entitled to Achilles’ weapons following his death.
When these intrigues end up with Odysseus, he decides to take revenge. But he becomes the pride of the goddess Athena and the laughingstock of the Argive army. Dishonored and desperate, he kills himself.
The translation was done by the poet Nikos A. Panagiotopoulos.
