The new factory. A year following a previous edition where you spoke on the metaverse, we find ourselves at “One to One Customer Experience” and this time, the word is barely mentioned by marketing professionals. Does this mean the metaverse is already over?
Thomas Husson. I wouldn’t say it’s over. But I would especially point out to you that it never really started. As with all new technologies, there have been precursors, notably immersive Roblox-type gaming universes which have a strong audience or innovative platforms, such as Decentraland or Sandbox, with a small audience. But the metaverse as it was presented, that is to say an immersive and virtual parallel universe, there really was not one. We denounced the over-promises around this term. As a result, it is hardly surprising that today, it is no longer a priority for the vast majority of companies.
