The signs Raspberry Pi continue to be useful for the most diverse applications. This time, a project that uses equipment in conjunction with artificial intelligence can help farmers. In this sense, the technology is called FarmGuard and was developed by a user named Samith.
According to what the creator himself says, his idea was to develop a system that would be able to help farmers protect their crops from animals that might damage them. In this way, a monitor was created, powered by the SBC, that uses image processing with an AI camera and an IoT Blues Notecard board for notifications.
In practice, the module called Gravity HuskyLens Vision Sensor It is up to you to identify any wild animal. The model was trained with images of elephants, monkeys and wild boars as part of the configuration test for the equipment, which, in turn, can be used for the most varied applications using AI.
The Blues Notecard component is connected to the Pi via a special carrier plate and the entire assembly is held together with a case made from laser-cut acrylic sheets. Furthermore, the project uses the Pi Model B to implement this project, which does not mean that the user cannot use a newer one for the same idea.
As for the system chosen for the application, it is the Pi OS Bullseye Edition. Finally, Samith published details regarding his project on Hackster, including guidance to help other people set up their own projects with FarmGuard
