AI: Court of Auditors sees new law positively

With the new Information Technology Use Act, the state of Upper Austria wants to provide itself with a framework for how artificial intelligence applications can be used effectively in administration. As reported, one potential field of application could be the review of funding applications.

The State Audit Office (LRH) sees this as positive and innovative. However, the LRH suggests tightening up the processing of special categories of personal data and evaluating the law within two years of its entry into force. The review period for the draft law runs until August 9. The draft will then be revised with reference to the comments submitted, and there will be another opportunity for review in the autumn.
