The April 4 SN is dedicated to two articles on AI (artificial intelligence) or ultimate digital information robotics. This has roused the analogue and even more so virtual world, heralding the next digital dimension. No stone/bit is left unturned. Even if Italy has decided to block the GPT chatbot for the time being and other countries are thinking regarding restrictions, the sorcerer’s apprentice’s dilemma – “I can’t get rid of the spirits I called up anymore” – will spread mercilessly, worldwide and up to dash forward to the last corner of the children’s room. Chatbots (chat + robot) are text robots that you can talk to. Fed by verbal or written input, these generate any desired version of the output within a few seconds.
Regulations once morest the seemingly omnipotent instrument of the AI will quickly ebb away. It is important to learn how to deal with this contradictory force in a demanding manner and to consciously direct action and focus in many areas of everyday life more towards the analogue, physical-emotional, empathy-driven juxtaposition – moving closer together and “being human” is more in demand than ever before . Then the unreal-real phenomenon AI will not noticeably irritate us.
