With this offer, the health insurance company is reacting to the increasing number of long-term illnesses caused by the corona pandemic. According to estimates, ten to 15 percent of infected people suffer from the so-called LongCovid or Post-Covid Syndrome (PCS).
Symptoms range from palpitations, shortness of breath, restricted lung function and chronic fatigue to depression and insomnia. Trained health advisors provide information regarding treatment options on a previously unique telephone hotline in Ahrensburg.
The DAK-Gesundheit hotline can be reached Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 040 325 325 922. Insured persons of all health insurance companies can obtain information. If desired, the consultation can also take place anonymously.
In order to make a reliable diagnosis, the family doctor’s practice is the right place to go. “With our hotline, we offer people help in the jungle of offers. We ask regarding specific needs and arrange special and fast care for people,” says Sabrina Gregersen, head of DAK-Gesundheit in Ahrensburg. “We are not medical professionals, but we have an important advisory and piloting function when dealing with Long Covid.”
