Ahmed bin Mishar Al Muhairi: UAE initiatives motivate community members to read

Ahmed bin Mishar Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Legislation Committee, on the occasion of the month of reading 2023, confirmed that the United Arab Emirates celebrates the month of reading every March through a series of events and initiatives in which various state institutions participate, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of reading as one of the most important ways Acquisition of knowledge, culture, practical and life skills, a major engine for development and progress, and the cornerstone for building knowledge societies.

He continued: The large-scale events and activities that the country is witnessing during this month reflect the keenness of our wise leadership to consolidate the culture of reading. This approach is evident in the pioneering initiatives organized by the state with the aim of motivating community members to read, the most prominent of which is the “Arab Reading Challenge” launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and it has become the largest knowledge project of its kind in Arabic.

He added: We affirm in the Supreme Legislation Committee our keenness to continuously participate in this purposeful annual initiative, and to provide a stimulating work environment for reading and acquiring knowledge, in line with national trends, and contributes to expanding the perceptions of our employees and their knowledge balance and enhancing their capabilities for creativity and innovation.
