VICE Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Ahmad Sahroni was furious with the judge who sentenced Ronald Tannur in the Dini Sera Afriyanti murder case. Ronald was acquitted by the panel of judges led by Erintuah Damanik at the Surabaya District Court.
It happened when the DPR Commission III received a complaint from Dini’s family in the DPR Commission III meeting room. Initially, Dini’s family’s attorney, Dimas Yemahura, explained the trial process at the Surabaya District Court and the judge asked about the alcohol content in the victim’s body.
“I happened to be present at that time. So when I was present, I was asked whether there was alcohol content in the victim’s body? Yes (the expert answered),” said Dimas, imitating the judge’s statement in the DPR Commission III meeting room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 29, 2024.
The judge was also said to have asked for expert testimony on the cause of Dini’s death. Asked whether alcohol caused the death, the forensic expert stated that it did not cause the death.
Dimas revealed in the trial that the expert stated that Dini died due to bleeding in several parts of the body. “What caused the death was severe bleeding in the stomach, chest, and liver,” he said.
Dimas also showed several photos of the condition of the body before the autopsy. There were tire marks on the victim’s body.

Sahroni cut Dimas off. The NasDem Party Treasurer called the judge a jerk.
“It’s clear. That the judge is indeed a jerk,” said Sahroni.
Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Habiburokhman also responded. He said that the act was barbaric.

“Astaghfirullah, this is barbaric,” said Habiburokhman.
Chief Justice Erintuah Damanik acquitted defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur of the murder charge of Dini Sera Afriyanti. The verdict was read out by Damanik during the sentencing hearing at the Surabaya District Court on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Damanik emphasized that the son of the PKB politician had not been proven legally and convincingly to have committed murder or assault which caused the victim’s death.

“The defendant was not proven legally and convincingly as in the first charge, Article 338 of the Criminal Code or second, Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code or third, Article 359 of the Criminal Code and 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code,” said Damanik.
In addition, Damanik asked the Public Prosecutor (JPU) to release the defendant from detention, immediately after the verdict was read. “Ordering to release the defendant immediately after this verdict is read,” he said.
Previously, Public Prosecutor (JPU) Ahmad Muzzaki demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 12 years in prison because he was considered proven in the first charge, namely Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder.
