Ahmad Dhani’s Iconic Performance at The 90’s Festival 2023: Reliving the Golden Era of Indonesian Music

Ahmad Band also performed at The 90’s Festival 2023. On stage Ahmad Dhani performed songs he composed in the 90s.

“That which was created in 1998 is still relevant. The next song is a song that I created in 2007, continuing with the song You You Are My Heaven,” said Ahmad Dhani on the stage of The 90’s Festival 2023 at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, on Sunday (13/8/2023) .

Ahmad Dhani also praised the musicality of musicians in the 90s. He said that in that era, Indonesian music was better.

“I’m grateful that life in the 90s had a different atmosphere. I’m not saying (music) now is bad, but 90s (music) is better. Lucky to be able to live in the 80s and 70s. That’s the tone of the 90s ,” said Ahmad Dhani.

Dhani also brought songs that offended social politics. When performing Distorsi, Ahmad Dhani shouted Ferdi Sambo’s name.

“The next song from 1998 is also called Distortion. Ferdi Sambo!” shouted Ahmad Dhani while performing Distortion.

He also forgot the lyrics when performing the song Dimensi. As a result, improvisation is the way out.

After that, Ahmad Dhani had time to listen to the audience’s request. As a result, he performed his old song, Kuldesak.

“You don’t need to make love, it’s God’s song,” said Ahmad Dhani before performing Kuldesak, which was also the closing act.

The Ahmad Band also performed a number of songs, such as Already, You-You Are My Heaven, Forgive to Madu Tiga.
