CHAIRMAN of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin said that his party will nominate any qualified Indonesian son or daughter who aspires to develop the region in the upcoming regional head elections (pilkada).
“Those who have ideas, have aspirations to develop the region, regardless of background, ethnicity, religion, race, group or party,” he said at his official residence, in Jakarta, Saturday (20/4).
Cak Imin also said that if it turns out that PKB internal cadres do not meet the predetermined requirements and standards, then these PKB cadres will not be nominated in the regional elections.
“On this occasion, my friends and all the ranks of the DPP, DPW, DPC, from today have opened the opportunity for all residents, communities, figures who want to run in the regional head election, we are not only ready to accompany them to win but we are ready “to accompany various programs that must be implemented to become its vision and mission in winning the hearts of the people to vote,” he said.
In determining the candidates who will be nominated in the future regional elections, continued Cak Imin, PKB will involve several figures to assess and select the candidates who want to be nominated.
For the time being, Cak Imin said that there is no candidate or list of names that will be put forward by PKB to run in the regional elections in Jakarta, West Java or East Java.

“So, we haven’t been able to decide who the candidates are for DKI, West Java and East Java. Likewise other areas. We can only wait for anyone to register, then we’ll test it. We involve figures to carry out public tests and we give the figures freedom to decide. “So the determination will not only be determined by the PKB, but really the expectations of society in general,” he said.
Likewise with the figure that PKB will promote in the North Sumatra regional elections. It is widely rumored that PKB will also support Bobby Nasution. However, Cak Imin has not given a definite answer as to whether PKB will nominate Bobby or not.
“As of today, no one has registered with PKB. Only later will we be able to come to a conclusion as to who registers, whether it is the last or whoever it is. “Because in North Sumatra until now no one has intended to register with PKB, maybe following I open this there will be registrants,” he said.
