The Constitutional Court (MK) will hold a hearing to read the decision on the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU), on Monday (22/4). The reading of the decision was carried out following the Constitutional Court held a series of trials to hear the lawsuit, examine witnesses and experts and ask for information from four ministers. Program Manager for the Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem) Fadli Ramadhanil said that the MK’s chances of granting or rejecting it were the same.
“If it is granted, we will see how far it goes. The arguments proven at the Constitutional Court were regarding the constitutionality and administration of Gibran’s candidacy. “Then there is the problem of politicization of social assistance, and chaos in the management of collection and recap,” explained Fadli to Media Indonesia, Sunday (21/4).
Fadli said the homework that needed to be monitored was how confident the Constitutional Court judges were with the evidence that had been presented at trial. If it is rejected, said Fadli, the chaos in the 2024 election can no longer be corrected.
It is known that the Constitutional Court will read out the decision on the PHPU dispute or the 2024 presidential election dispute on April 22 2024.
Relevant parties, namely the respondent, namely the KPU and the information provider, namely Bawaslu RI, will be invited to attend the trial agenda. (Z-11)
