Ahead of Match Against Saudi Arabia, 14 National Team Players Perform Umrah

FOURTEEN Indonesian national team players performed the Umrah pilgrimage in between preparations for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone.

The first match against Saudi Arabia will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, Friday (6/9) early morning at 01.00 WIB.

The 14 Garuda players who performed the religious service were Rizky Ridho, Muhammad Ferrari, Ernando Ari, Nadeo Argawinata, Dimas Drajad, Egy Maulana, Witan Sulaeman, Ramadhan Sananta, Adi Satryo, Wahyu Prasetyo, Ragnar Oratmagoen, Hokky Caraka, Asnawi Mangkualam, and Pratama Arhan.

They also do sa’i, which is walking and jogging back and forth between Bukit Shafa and Bukit Marwah as many as seven times.

“Prayers for ease for Garuda’s journey in the 3rd Round of the World Cup Qualification,” wrote the Indonesian National Team in the upload.

The same hope was also expressed by Ragnar, a striker who also plays for FC Dender Belgium.

“Couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the third round of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Alhamdulillah,” he said.

Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong brought 26 players to play the opening two matches against Saudi Arabia and Australia.

Of the 26 names brought, Shin called 12 players who have careers in local competitions, 13 players abroad, and one player who is still without a club, namely Thom Haye. (Ant/Z-1)
