‘Ah Corona’ Seong-jae Lim withdrew from KPGA after 2 years and 7 months

The meeting between Im Seong-jae (24, CJ Korea Express) and domestic galleries was canceled due to COVID-19.

Seongjae Lim was scheduled to participate in the KPGA Korean Tour Woori Financial Championship (total prize of 1.3 billion won, winning prize of 260 million won) held at the Ferrum Club East and West courses (par 72/7216 yards) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province on the 12th.

Ahead of the tournament, the KPGA announced that “Sung-jae Lim withdrew from the tournament this morning because of COVID-19.”

Im Seong-jae was scheduled to play with Bio Kim (32, Hoban Construction) from 11:30 am on the same day, but was unable to participate in the tournament due to the unexpected variable of Corona 19.

Seongjae Lim, whose main stage is the PGA Tour, visited Korea to participate in the sponsored tournament. It is the first time in two years and seven months since the Genesis Championship in October 2019 that Im Seong-jae will appear on the domestic stage.

As much as galleries wanting to see Im Sung-jae, who has grown significantly in the PGA, the previous day, Lim, who vowed to “show a great shot in front of Korean fans,” was deeply saddened.

Seongjae Lim, who finished runner-up in the 2020 Masters and placed 8th in this year’s tournament, was planning to go to the United States and participate in the major PGA Championship, which will start on the 20th, but it is currently impossible to guarantee the schedule.
