Alappuzha ∙ Another person has been arrested in the counterfeiting case, in which Edvata Agriculture Officer Jishamol is accused. South Police arrested Suresh Babu at Haripad Chingoli Velliserithara. The police said that there was a similar case once morest him in 2009. Meanwhile, it has been almost confirmed that 2 of the people arrested in connection with the money laundering transaction from Palakkad are related to the fake note case. A police team from Alappuzha has reached Palakkad and is interrogating them.
A seven-member gang including them was arrested for stealing a mini lorry from Palakkad Walayar. They were caught following hijacking a mini lorry and attacking its occupants, thinking they had pipe money. S. Shifas (30) of Alappuzha Zakaria Ward Shifas Manzil and S. Vijith (30) Charummudu Komallur Charuvayath S. Vijith (30) are the main accused in the Alappuzha counterfeit note case. Suresh Babu was arrested from Alappuzha. The police concluded that the fake notes were given to Jishamol and Suresh Babu by the same person. He has not been found. Suresh Babu was arrested by a special team led by South CI S. Arun.
