KUWAIT CITY: The ‘Souk Nuwair’ sales center organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Nusa Cooperative Society to promote and support local farmers in Kuwait has concluded. Hundreds of local farmers participated in the fair. Officials informed that Souq Nuwair will be organized in other governorates with the cooperation of cooperative societies in the coming days. Social Affairs Minister Mai Al Bagli inaugurated the market fair. The minister said that through such fairs, farmers will be able to market their agricultural products directly to consumers without intermediaries.
The two-day farmer’s market featured locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as ornamental plants, honey and many other products. Hundreds of visitors came to the beautiful shopping center designed by architect Zine Al Barjas. Union of Consumer Cooperative Society Public Relations and Media Officer Abdul Mohsen Al Abdullah said that people prefer the products of local farmers because of their low prices and high quality.
