Agricultural emergency declared and extended in Río Negro and other provinces affected by drought

He Ministry of Economy declared the agricultural emergency in districts of the province of Río Negro and by extending the same status in others in Santa Fe and La Pampa, in all cases to assist rural farms affected by the drought.

Las measures were formalized through resolutions 1,482/2023, 1,484/2023 and 1,485/2023 published today in the Official Gazette, in response to the recommendations made by the National Commission for Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters.

The first of the resolutions declared a state of emergency and/or disaster, as appropriate.for cattle, sheep and goat livestock farms in the Rio Negro departments of Adolfo Alsina, Avellaneda, Conesa, El Cuy, General Roca and Pichi Mahuida, from June 1, 2023 to June 1, 2024.

Resolution 1,484 extended the emergency until March 31, 2024 to agricultural farms in the Santa Fe department of General López, while in the third measure the extension was also provided for in the departments of Chalileo and Toay, in the province of La Pampa.

In all cases, for the purposes of being able to benefit from the benefits agreed by the LAgricultural Emergency Law 26,509 and its amendments, in accordance with the provisions of its Article 8, lThe affected producers must present a certificate issued by the competent authority of the respective province.

The state declaration Emergency corresponds when at least 50% of the production or productive capacity of the farm is affected, and in that case the owner will benefit from the postponement of the payment of national taxes.

If this damage exceeds 80% of the production or productive capacity, an agricultural disaster is declared and the producer will be exempt from paying the corresponding taxes.
