Agnès Vahramian has become the director of franceinfo, Radio France announced in a press release. The France Télévisions correspondent in the Middle East and war correspondent in Ukraine will take up her new position on September 16. A former correspondent in the United States, she was deputy editor-in-chief of France 2, editor-in-chief of Envoyé Spécial and then of the 8 p.m. news on France 2. Agnès Vahramian succeeds Jean-Philippe Baille, who has become deputy general director of news at RMC BFM.

The public group also announced the appointment of Céline Pigalle as deputy editorial director in charge of news and proximity. She will combine this new role with her role as director of France Bleu, which she has held since April 2023. She is responsible for the cross-functional news editorial teams in charge of investigation, international and sports, the general secretariat for news and the Radio France Information Verification Agency. At the head of the 44 local stations, her mission will be “to coordinate the work of all the group’s editorial teams, to continue to make Radio France a trusted reference by guaranteeing listeners quality news, and to ensure that news is promoted”. Céline Pigalle began her career at Europe 1 before joining the Canal+ group and then serving as editorial director of LCI and then BFMTV.

Laurence Bloch’s successor confirmed

As announced last June, Vincent Meslet succeeds Laurence Bloch as editorial director of Radio France. The former director of Newen France “will be tasked with cultivating the uniqueness of the offerings and the identity of the public service channels, consolidating the linear and digital audience successes of recent years, and offering each station prospects for development and renewal”. Vincent Meslet has notably worked on audiovisual productions (Plus belle la Vie, Ce Soir ou Jamais and 28 Minutes) and has worked within the public service at France 3, France 2 and Arte.
