Aggressive Lewandowski in Barca outfit for the first time

Robert Lewandowski proudly posed in his new club’s outfit for the first time after moving to FC Barcelona with a thumbs up and promised the Spanish fans a title-rich season.

“My goals are always high, I always want to win,” said the 33-year-old former Bayern striker in an interview with his new club. “We have so many good players with great quality, we can go very far. We can achieve a lot with this team this season.” The Munich and Spanish clubs agreed on the transfer of the striker at the weekend.

Lewandowski has already arrived in Miami

According to Spanish media, the Polish national soccer striker had already arrived in Miami on Sunday, where his new team is currently on a US tour. Accordingly, Lewandowski should complete the medical check on Monday and be presented. A debut in the test against Inter Miami on Wednesday should be unlikely. “I’m enjoying being here,” said the goalscorer, who was greeted with a handshake by Barça President Joan Laporta and posed for the cameras on the beach. “The last few days have been very long, but now the deal is done and I can focus on a new chapter in my life, a new challenge.”

He described the move to the Catalans after eight years at Bayern as the “next step”. “I always wanted to play in LaLiga, always play for a big club,” said Lewandowski. He was immediately convinced of the game philosophy of his new coach Xavi Hernández: “I spoke to Xavi and I knew from the start that the club was on the right track with him. It was easy for me to choose Barcelona,” he said. “He has a wonderful future here and I want to be part of it.”
