Fear at the Porta Nuova station in Verona, where a man of foreign origins threw himself against a railway police patrol and was killed by a gunshot fired by an officer. According to what has been reconstructed, the man who was killed would have arrived in front of the Verona railway yard in a state of psycho-physical alteration, law enforcement sources say. Then he attacked the policemen who were trying to identify him with a knife. At that point one of the officers fired a gunshot which fatally wounded the man.
According to what we learn, the man first attacked the traffic police who were investigating a car accident. Subsequently it would have reached the Porta Nuova railway station, where in a state of alteration it first damaged the ticket office, then the tobacconist and finally also some cars parked in the airport car park. After disappearing, the man showed up again around 7 am at the train station and here he was intercepted by a police patrol who attempted to stop him to identify him. At that point the man allegedly attacked the officers.
