SUMMER IN MORCOTE 2024, the series of events organized by the Municipality of Morcote, offers three evenings of OPEN AIR CINEMA on its lakefront Rooftop.

From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August, three iconic films on the program: an absolute preview in Sud delle Alpi, two arthouse films dubbed in Ticino dialect by Yor Milano, music and the chance to enjoy a drink at sunset on the new Rooftop-Bar.

In Morcote, a village named BEST TOURISM VILLAGES by UNWTO, the SUMMER IN MORCOTE events season, which began in June, continues until the end of September with countless initiatives open to all, including, as per tradition, the OPEN AIR CINEMA!

From Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August, three iconic films will be shown in a unique setting on the splendid lakefront terrace located on the 7th floor of the Autosilo Garavello Comunale! For the occasion, a Rooftop Bar will be set up thanks to the Move For Charity charity where, starting at 7:00 pm, you can enjoy a beer or a cocktail at sunset, lulled by the music of Radio Morcote International while waiting for the film to be shown.

Given the great success of last year with Düü TESTIMONI SCOMOD (Some Like It Hot), this year there will be two films dubbed strictly in Ticino dialect

Saturday 24th August

8.30pm screening of the film in Ticino dialect

“La Grande Vadrouille” (“Three Men on the Run”, “Scapa Ti… che scapi anca mi”) comedy, France/UK, 1966, 118 min. Directed by Gérard Oury with Louis De Funes and Bourvil. Very funny film, DUBBED IN TICINO. It was filmed in 1966 with two aces of laughter: Louis De Funes and Bourvil.

Sunday 25th August

8.30 pm screening of the film in Ticino dialect “The Searchers” (“The Searchers”, “Se ta cati…ta copi” USA1956, 119 min. Directed by J. Ford with John Wayne. The first WESTERN in Ticino dialect.

The three events will take place at Spazio Garavello 7 – 7th floor of the Morcote municipal parking garage.

Starting at 7:00 pm, the Rooftop Bar will be open to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset to the sound of music before the screenings begin.
