“Against the role and I’m glad about it”: Patrini Fotini Demiri returns tomorrow to her hometown and talks to “P”

Fotini Demiri returns to her homeland with the performance “8 women”, tomorrow Thursday (9:30 p.m.) at the Summer Municipal Theater, as part of the Patras International Festival. It is the police comedy by Robert Thomas, which bears the directorial stamp of Christos Sugaris and is, as the excellent actress explains, speaking to “P” a wonderful experience.

Its originality lies in the fact that it also includes music and dance breaks. “All of us dance and perform songs, of different styles, to the lyrics of Gerasimos Evagelatos and to the very nice music of RSN. It’s something I’ve never done before in the theater, it’s very interesting and really enjoyable. And the plot has a particularly fast pace, anxiety, suspense and there is very good chemistry between us on stage” he says.

– What do you collect from the public?

Ah, the audience gets excited. He laughs, claps and, at the end, gives us many congratulations.

-You are Mami. Which;

Mami is the grandmother of Gabi, the wife of the murdered Marcel. She is greedy, because as a widow she has raised two daughters with terrible deprivations, and has made herself comfortable in her husband’s mansion, where she eats and drinks richly. He is hooked on life and wants to live, at any cost, well and for many years. Nothing to do with me (laughs).

-With the rest of the “suspects” -Yro Mane, Iota Festa, Tania Trypi, Eugenia Dimitropoulou, Ioanna Triantafyllidou, Eugenia Xygorou, Mariza Tsari- how do you spend time outside the show?

Very well. There is mutual appreciation and respect. I won’t say we’ve become close friends, because in a 2 month tour, that would be a lie. But we care about each other a lot.

-Your feelings when you come to Patras for a show?

Mixed. Joy to return home and see my sister and a sweet melancholy because I remember my school years and parents, who are gone now.
