The president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, in a post on X, commented on the visit that Kyriakos Mitsotakis will make on Tuesday, to the areas that burned in the great fire of Attica. The answer did not take long to come from the ND…
Stefanos Kasselakis wrote, among other things, about Kyriakos Mitsotakis, that he plans to go to the incinerator next Tuesday, “ten days after the unprecedented disaster. Let the propaganda find some green left to put him forward to make a statement.”
In his post, Stefanos Kasselakis invited the prime minister to go together to the burning grounds to “show him around” as he himself was there for 4 days. He also emphasizes that the contract firefighters are asking the prime minister to dismiss Kikilia, commenting: “But how can Nero 1 expel Nero 2?”.
The Prime Minister decided to go to hell.
Not now, next Tuesday.

Marinakis: Logical… since he perceives a visit as an occasion for a photo
The answer from the ND side did not take long to come, through the Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister and Government Representative Pavlos Marinakis.
“It is reasonable for a political leader who perceives a visit as an occasion for a photo or video and in general his role as a roving influencer to question this,” the statement said.
And he continued:
“Now let’s go to the essence that also concerns the citizens: In order for such an important meeting to have meaning, the required damage records must first have preceded (after all, from the first moment it became possible 20 crews of the General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters and State Aid consisting of over 60 engineers began the autopsies), the necessary meetings to estimate the cost of restoration and in general every preparatory action to present a comprehensive restoration plan, both of the damage to the natural environment and to the citizens’ property, on which it will be a constructive debate, with the aim of finding the best solutions for citizens.
Therefore, it would be much more useful for the country and the residents of the affected areas to have an official opposition that would table specific and mostly costed proposals, rather than having a leader who posts as he breathes. Nothing else, but if you look at the latest program of SYRIZA for the European elections, you will not find even half a proposal for dealing with the climate crisis and further strengthening civil protection”.
