The recent news article about a widow, Tishleem Jahan, and her 14-year-old daughter ⁤being locked in a room and walled in by their relatives in Hyderabad, Sindh, is a disturbing reflection of the dark⁤ reality of property disputes ⁣and human rights abuses in the region.

According ⁤to the Senior‍ Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad, Dr. Farrukh Linjar, the relatives of the⁢ widow erected a wall instead of a door to the room, effectively imprisoning the mother and daughter [[3]]. ‍This shocking incident highlights the extreme measures ⁣that⁣ some individuals will take to resolve property disputes, often at⁣ the‌ expense of the⁣ most vulnerable members of their families.

Unfortunately, this is not an⁢ isolated incident. There have been numerous reports of⁤ women and girls being subjected to violence, abuse, and exploitation‍ in Sindh, often as‍ a result of‍ property disputes or other forms of patriarchal oppression. ⁣For example, ⁤a 14-year-old ⁢Hindu girl, Muskan Kumari, was reportedly abducted, raped,‍ and forcibly converted to⁢ Islam in Ghouspur, Sindh [[2]]. Similarly, Priya Kumari,‌ a 7-year-old Hindu girl, disappeared while serving sherbet to a Muharram Ashura procession in ⁣2021, and her parents are still protesting‍ for her recovery [[1]].

These incidents are symptomatic of a ⁢broader ⁢culture of impunity and disregard for human rights ⁢in Sindh, where vulnerable‌ individuals, particularly women and minorities, are often subjected to violence, abuse, and exploitation. The fact that a widow and her daughter can⁣ be imprisoned in a room by their relatives with little‌ or no regard for their well-being or ⁢safety is a ⁤stark reminder of ‍the need⁢ for urgent action to protect ⁣human rights and promote⁣ justice in the region.

the incident of Tishleem Jahan and her daughter being locked⁤ in a room and⁣ walled in⁢ by their relatives is a disturbing reflection of the dark reality of ⁢property⁤ disputes and⁤ human rights abuses ‍in Sindh, Pakistan. It‌ is imperative that authorities take swift and decisive action to address these issues ⁤and promote justice,⁤ equality, and human⁢ rights for all individuals, particularly the most⁣ vulnerable⁢ members of society.
