At the general assembly of the former ruling party on Saturday August 12, 2023, the socio-political and economic situation of Guinea was on the agenda. Honorable Mohamed Lamine Kamissoko took the opportunity to talk regarding the lifestyle of Guineans and the detention of his comrades.
He accuses the military in power, since September 5, 2021, of being at the origin of the high cost of living in Guinea. For the Honorable Kamissoko, transport, health and food have become expensive today. “So why the coup? Because you said that Professor Alpha Condé took Guineans hostage, instrumentalized justice, led to financial mismanagement, embezzlement, etc. When the CEO was there, how many factories were there in Guinea and how many are there today? We had rice on the market, we had the necessary foodstuffs on the market following the military regime of Lansana Conté, what is left today? All this is the cause of military regimes, the Guinean must reflect. Since the September 5 coup, what is the price of a bag of rice, peppers, onions? Today, Guineans no longer eat properly. I tell you that no military regime can develop a country”, launched the former MP.
For this member of the political bureau of the Rainbow RPG, Professor Alpha Condé did a lot for Guineans before the arrival of the military regime. Moreover, he invites activists and sympathizers to fight for the return of their leader.
“Professor Alpha Condé gave electricity to Guineans, he rebuilt the Donka hospital, he built health centers in several sub-prefectures, he set up rotating independence celebrations to gradually develop the country. It’s indisputable, the main roads, the main bridges, except when you’re irrational, you’ll say it didn’t work. Alpha Condé had an incomparable development plan in Africa. Dear activists and sympathizers once once more it is useless to disarm. We are the strongest party. We must maintain our posture and fight for Professor Alpha Condé to return. The people need him,” he said.
Then, he also addressed the legal troubles of certain political actors, in particular the detention of former dignitaries of the Alpha Condé regime which still remains a concern within the yellow party. Mohamed Lamine Kamissoko denounces this prolonged detention of senior officials of the Rainbow Rpg for almost two (2) years now.
“How is justice today? Our colleagues are in jail today. You blame people, send them straight to jail. You keep them for almost two years without trial. Where is justice and what does justice say?”
