Stefan Zeiringer becomes the new ÖH chairman at the University of Graz

Strengthened by a strong vote, we will assume responsibility at the ÖH Uni Graz in the next two years and will continue to be a competent representative for all Graz students. After successful coalition negotiations, it is particularly important to us that we can continue our successful work and implement projects that are close to our hearts. In the coming years, we will continue to advocate flexible and digital teaching, among other things, and will focus on social assistance for students in need. As a party-independent service group, it is also important to us to continue to see the ÖH as an open place where party politics is held back and concrete work is done to improve the everyday life of students

Graz (OTS) Today at the constitutive meeting of the ÖH Uni Graz AG top candidate Stefan Zeiringer was elected the new chairman of the students’ union at the University of Graz. This means that the Graz Action Group has had executive responsibility at the ÖH Uni Graz for three periods in a row and has had a total of four ÖH chairmen since 2019. After intensive negotiations with almost all parliamentary groups, AG Graz and VSStÖ Graz agreed on a joint coalition in order to work together constructively and on an equal footing over the next two years.

“Strengthened by a strong vote, we will take on responsibility at the ÖH Uni Graz in the next two years and will continue to be a competent representative for all Graz students. After successful coalition negotiations, it is particularly important to us that we can continue our successful work and implement projects that are close to our hearts. In the coming years, we will continue to advocate flexible and digital teaching, among other things, and will focus on social assistance for students in need. As a non-partisan service group, it is also important to us to continue to see the ÖH as an open place where party politics is held back and concrete work is done to improve the everyday life of the students”.says Stefan Zeiringer, who, as acting social affairs officer at the ÖH Uni Graz, ran as the top candidate in the ÖH elections and will take over the business of the ÖH Uni Graz from July 1st.

As the future executive factions, the Graz Action Group and the VSStÖ are undertaking a series of projects to achieve concrete improvements in the everyday study life of students. In addition to a focus on a more visible and open ÖH, we are campaigning for a better bicycle infrastructure on and around the university, a more livable campus and a more digital and flexible university. In addition, in talks with the Rectorate, the ÖH is committed to having volunteer work in blue-light organizations be remunerated with elective ECTS in order to honor this commitment and promote the important work of blue-light organizations.
