After Trump’s statements, AMLO corrects him: “I am still the president of Mexico”

MEXICO CITY.- This Wednesday, during his usual morning press conference, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, clarified to his “friend” Donald Trump, Republican candidate for the Presidency of the United States, that he is still the head of the Mexican Executive and that he is not retiring yet, so he asked him, in a joking tone, not to send him ahead of time to “La Chingada”, the name of his country house in Palenque, Chiapas, where he has announced that he will retire after the end of his term.

During his morning press conference on Wednesday, July 24, at the National Palace, López Obrador displayed the letter he sent yesterday to Donald Trump, following his statements against migration and economic integration, explaining in a postscript that he will continue to be president of Mexico until September 30.

“PS. Listen, I am still the president of Mexico, my term ends at the end of September. I am clarifying this because a few days ago you mentioned that I had already retired,” said the president.

“Please, my friend, don’t send me to hell before my time. Even if you laugh and it always seems strange to you, here goes another hug,” López Obrador read in the Treasury Room.
