After about 5 months of the global scandal, the Belgian health authorities agreed to return the factory that produces the famous Kinder egg.
Belgian health authorities had halted production of the famous egg due to a salmonella contamination scandal.
A spokeswoman for the Belgian Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain told AFP: “All the results of the analyzes of raw materials and finished products were in accordance with the specifications, and the inspection missions went well.
And the factory belonging to the world-famous Italian giant Ferrero, in the Belgian city of Arlon, had obtained a permit in mid-June to resume production under certain conditions, after it had been closed since the eighth of April after the scandal was exposed. And 150 cases of salmonella were recorded in 9 European countries.
The Belgian Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain has requested that it be able to carry out regular analyzes of the ingredients used and the final products before they are put on the market.
“The granting of the production license means that everything is ready to resume production with confidence at the Arlon plant,” Ferrero said in a statement.
The Belgian agency stressed that the factory would be monitored during the next year.
