The journalist, Tariq Allam, revealed the details of his claim of 70,000 pounds in arrears to the South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company, as the value of late bills due to be paid.
Allam said in exclusive statements to “Masrawy”, that “an agricultural production company rented from him a plot of land on the “Egypt/Alexandria” desert road, and allocated it to grow onions, and before the expiry of the contract term, the tenants left the land, before they paid the electricity bills that were late on them, What prompted the company to ask me for the overdue invoices.”
Allam added that he will not leave the matter hanging with the company, but will present his papers and documents to prove the correctness of his legal position, and confirm that he is not responsible for the land throughout the lease period.
