Muhammad Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Preventive Affairs, said that the Corona virus is not over yet and a global epidemic is still present and continues in the world, noting that the World Health Organization announced this.
In statements to the Egyptian satellite channel, Taj El-Din, on Friday, he stressed the need to follow all preventive and precautionary measures and for citizens to wear a muzzle, pointing out that Corona’s injuries did not stop at any moment and the vast majority of cases are treated at home.
He pointed out that the epidemiological situation in Egypt has clearly decreased in numbers during the last period, but it was noticed that cases of infection with the Corona virus increased regarding two weeks ago, and the vast majority of infected people ranged between 85 and 90%, and their condition is very simple, which is the same as the symptoms of regular flu and cold, which do not exceed the device. Lower respiratory tract and lungs, from feeling sore in the throat and throat, sneezing, coughing, and feeling cracking all over the body, in addition to high temperature.
The Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health and Preventive Affairs explained that the virus, whether it is a normal flu or corona, is a contagious viral disease, stressing the need to take all precautionary and preventive measures, and the person with these symptoms must isolate himself immediately, both at the family and community level, consult a doctor, take the necessary medications and during his exit. From home, he must wear a mask to maintain the health of the community.
He pointed out that mutations are a way for the virus to evade the body’s immunity, noting that mutants are characteristics of viruses and that the mutated is not necessarily more dangerous than the original virus.
And he continued: “What will happen, we hope will not be more severe, 85% of cases were mild to moderate, but this means that 10% to 15% are severe or very severe, and now 95% of cases have become simple to moderate,” calling for care not to increase cases. So that we don’t get a higher percentage of severe cases that need intensive care, ventilators, and hospitalization.
He explained, “We must be at the stage of anticipation and caution to prevent an increase in infections, and as long as there is an increase in cases, there must be a kind of care and follow-up,” advising all citizens to obtain vaccinations, as they are available in abundance in the country, with the aim of increasing community immunity.
