Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the acting Minister of Health and Population, appealed to citizens to receive coronavirus vaccines, as they contribute to protecting all family members from severe infections with the Corona virus and its variants.
He confirmed the safety of all vaccines in Egypt and that they have obtained emergency use approval from the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority.
This came during a meeting held by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, to follow up on the process of vaccinating citizens with coronavirus vaccines, at the General Office of the Ministry of Health and Population.
The Minister confirmed the availability of all types of vaccines, as the total number of doses of Corona virus vaccines that have reached Egypt so far has reached 132,105,180 doses, including finished vaccines and raw materials prepared for manufacturing in the production lines of the Holding Company for Bio-Products and Vaccines “Vaccera”, pointing out that the number of The doses that were consumed either as a first, second or booster dose amounted to 61 million 362 thousand and 576 doses.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the minister directed the necessity of facilitating the citizens in the procedures for receiving the vaccine, in accordance with the recommendations of Dr. The number of doses of the Corona virus vaccine currently available is 70 million and 742 thousand and 604 doses.
“Abdul Ghaffar” indicated that the minister directed the launch of medical convoys at vaccination centers that witness a high turnout of citizens, and indicated the availability of vaccination points in metro stations, trains and commercial markets, pointing out that medical teams record the data of citizens who frequent those points, and the data includes The name, national number and phone number, then the vaccination is done immediately, as he mentioned that messages are sent to citizens on phones immediately following registration, which bears the registration code due to its importance in proving vaccination inside or outside Egypt.
“Abdul Ghaffar” stated that the minister praised the solidarity of all state institutions during the response to the pandemic, which had a major role in dealing with the Corona virus pandemic from its inception, all the way to the vaccination system with Corona vaccines and access to citizens through fixed and mobile vaccination points spread across the governorates of the Republic.
