Last week, we received the news that Jonathan Majors, interpreter of the current big villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had been fired from Marvel Studios after being found guilty of third-degree assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend.

With this, many began to wonder what the MCU universe would be, since Kang, the character played by Majors, would have a fundamental role in future Marvel Studios films, especially in the new Avengers films.

This week, a leaker called MyTimeToShineHello, famous for revealing accurate information about the behind-the-scenes of the MCU, indicated that Beyonder is the new villain chosen by Marvel to replace Kang in Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled to hit theaters in May 2027.

Even if the rumor is true, it remains to be seen whether the Beyonder will also replace Kang in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the film that precedes Secret Wars and is scheduled for release in May 2026.

In the comics, the Beyonder is a celestial being from a race known as the Beyonder. He was responsible for creating a planet called Battleworld, where he brought together many heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe in a battle to the death, being responsible for the first Secret Wars.

The time-traveling villain made appearances in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as well as both seasons of Loki, and he would be the antagonist in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, scheduled for May 1, 2026. The film is still underway. in the script phase and had not yet started recording. No director is currently attached to the project.

Marvel has two options now. It could recast the role, although it’s unclear how many actors would be interested in a role from which an actor has been publicly fired. The other path is to reformulate your plans and refocus on a new villain. While Marvel’s sources are keeping quiet, there are indications that the studio is already doing just that.

In November, Marvel hired Loki creator Michael Waldron to work on a new draft of what was once called Kang Dynasty but is now known as Avengers 5, according to sources.

The studio had months to plan for such an eventuality, and it’s possible that Waldon was part of that course correction.

Marvel has recasts in the past, but because of creative and financial differences, not legal problems.

For now, we can only wait to find out what the future of the MCU will be after all this controversy.
