After the defeat in Lyman: Kadyrov calls for the use of atomic bombs

Ukraine’s success provoked sharp reactions in Russia on Saturday. And much less secretive than with Putin himself.

Tactical nuclear bombs at the front?

Ramzan Kadyrov, ruler in the Russian republic of Chechnya, openly called for the use of tactical nuclear bombs. “In my personal opinion, more drastic measures should be taken, up to and including the imposition of martial law in the border regions and the use of low-yield nuclear weapons,” he wrote on Telegram.

The loss of Lyman is indeed grave. The small town in the western part of Donetsk Oblast served as a railway junction for supplying Russian troops throughout the region. This means that Russia has to give up the area that was only annexed in a ceremony in Moscow on Friday.
